Wow. It&#8217;s a cool place. Even only being there for less than four days, I can see that this is a very cool unusual city. Of course, my experience there is far from ordinary.<br \/>\n<\/span><span><br \/>\nI stayed in a really nice <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sfpalace.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">hotel<\/a> for a bargain price (courtesy of friends and their hotel-points-plan). We had &#8220;happy hour: at a cool <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ploufsf.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">bistro<\/a> and then really nice dinner at a nice\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.slanteddoor.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">restaurant <\/a>followed by late-night drinks in a dark little <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thehouseofshields.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">bar<\/a>. The next night, cocktails at a very quiet, dark <a href=\"http:\/\/www.toscacafesf.com\/TOSCA.html\" target=\"_blank\">bar<\/a>, really nice dinner at a <em>Really<\/em> nice\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.farallonrestaurant.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">restaurant<\/a>. What did we do the night after that? Why, cocktails at a fancy tourist <a href=\"http:\/\/www.intercontinentalmarkhopkins.com\/top_of_the_mark\/\" target=\"_blank\">bar<\/a> followed by a not-quite-so-expensive dinner at a french <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cafeclaude.com\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">cafe<\/a>. That bargain price at the hotel? Well, I guess we spent the savings on food and drink.<br \/>\n<\/span><span><br \/>\nDon&#8217;t get me wrong, we did lots of walking, sightseeing, and shopping during the (daylight) hours in between but next time I go to San Francisco, I might just have to go a bit further<a href=\"http:\/\/www.golden-gate-park.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"> afield<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I finally went to San Francisco.
